Shilpa Ananth - FEAR | Official Video
Shilpa Ananth
'Fear’ is a story about a woman that has been a victim her entire life, controlled by her regrets and everything she is too afraid to say or do, constantly haunted by the choices she never made and the traps she keeps falling into. The character of the Goddess on the other hand is a manifestation of the fear within the woman, her dual nature in conflict, and we see the victim bound by the powerful Goddess and her army for the better part of the song, unable to hide, or escape from the prison of self doubt, her fears taking over. The song however ends on a victorious note with the protagonist physically breaking the chains holding her down, and facing her worst nightmare, the Goddess of Fear. She finally defeats her fears, as she rises up against adversity, celebrating her metamorphosis into a woman that is a perfect balance of both identities, an Empowered Queen. The concept of the mirror that weaves in and out throughout the story, is to convey the breaking and letting go of the ego. LYRICS: Can anybody hear me I'm trapped in a mirror inside And as she takes over I wonder if I'll make it out alive. I've come so far, yet I am nowhere Years go by as I open every door Out of cards I look up at the stars And pray to know what I'm in for. Lost in a maze dreading time as I age I'm spinning out of control I was certain of my life purpose, Unafraid of the unknown. She's gonna hold on As she feeds on my inner light Locked in her shadow Do I give in or do I fight? Do I fight? Do I fight? Do I fight? Breaking the chains holding me down in vain I'm leaking inspiration Won't let her claim my worth or focus Through it all I will rise I've come so far, yet I am nowhere Can anybody hear me Years go by as I open every door I'm cracking the circle of my life Taking charge I look up at the stars And as I wake empowered I've come so far, finally somewhere I wonder if she'll make it out alive FOLLOW: Website - http://shilpaananth.com/ IG - https://www.instagram.com/shilpaananth/ Spotify - https://spoti.fi/36S333Y Bandcamp - https://shilpaananth.bandcamp.com/ SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/shilpaananth FB - https://www.facebook.com/shilpaananthmusician YT - https://youtube.com/shilpaananth

Against the Tide: Shot beautifully through the lens of Ashok Meena – stunning imagery on display.  FilmSnobReviews

Against the Tide: Cinematographer Ashok Meena frames interactions between both friends in terse closeups, frequently employing long takes to convey a feeling

of suffocation. hyperallergic

Against the Tide: Cinematographer Ashok Meena respect the trust by keeping a distance as difficult conversations play out, adding to the organic feel. Eye for film

Cinematographer Ashok Meena delivers such powerful imagery for all 97 minutes of Against the Tide. Loud and Clear

The film is most compelling whenever Kaur and cinematographer Ashok Meena allow scenes to play out unadorned, simply observing events and allowing various details

to accumulate. inreviewonline

The cinematography is wonderful, and it’s very impressive how the filmmaker manages to film some of the boat ride scenes or how it always seems like the camera is never there as

people go about their day so naturally. Film Threat

Cinematographer Ashok Meena, lets the camera observe the two men from a paradoxical distance. Hindustan Times

Sarvnik Kaur's gorgeously shot and atmospheric documentary hones in on a fracturing friendship with skill and generosity.  We Love Cinema

A genuine sense of not the travails of these individuals and their milieu as well is captured in fine detail. Point of View Magazine

Ashok Meena take a restrained approach to both the local environment and its people, allowing the camera to observe each unfolding dramatic scenario
