Ashok Meena, a Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) graduate, is a cinematographer working in both fiction and documentary.
His notable works include "Against The Tide," which won Best Verite Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, and "Pushkar Puran," directed by Kamal Swaroop. Meena also shot "MeenRaag," which won the Indian National Award, and Tanuja Chandra's "Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha."
Two of Meena's recent projects are premiering at the Busan International Film Festival this year: "Sad Letters of an Imaginary Woman" by Nidhi Saxena is having its world premiere, while "In Retreat" by Maisam Ali, which previously premiered at Cannes, is having its Asian premiere.
Meena's work has been featured at numerous prestigious festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Visions du Réel, DocsBarcelona, Sheffield International Documentary Festival, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, Munich International Documentary Festival, Mumbai Film Festival, and IDFA. His films have also been recognized at the 69th National Awards, Gotham Awards, and ACID Cannes.
